*Fat-Turkey

20Aug: Well it's that time of year again when you get all reflective and nostaglic and such. I sat up chatting to my mum last night about what originally started off as a discussion about whats wrong with schools these days, and then it flowed into a deep discussion about the past and how big a bitch our memories can be. I guess it doesn't help that my mum brought home from Jabiru the old photoalbums (with some hopelessly attractive photos of me as a curly-haired freak eating spaghetti with the sauce all over my face...mental note: must destroy those). For those who don't know, reminiscing about my childhood and home town isn't exactly something I enjoy - mixed emotions there (surprisingly they're not all negative) - I get filled with this fear that I've wasted a big chunk of an important part of my life. OR WORSE: that I didn't waste it but my memory classified the recollection of that time as 'disposable'. DAMN MEMORY! Every year around this time, without a doubt, I start thinking about the past when I should really be thinking about the future... Anyone elses thoughts on this would be interesting.

Well in other news, uni is a bitch. A lecturer for my Professional Writing class is slightly freakish, full of her own self importance and nasty. She used to be a news-reader and current affairs person for a tv network here, but she walks around and talks about it as if she's freakin Nicole Kidman or something. What bothers me most is her mannerisms: I honestly think she feels threatened by the class Work is getting better, as I am getting more hours and more dollars while I help the manager of our department sort out a big pile of administration stuff she's just forgotten about for a while.

And I have one word for you: DEXTER. Pure luck brought me to the dvd store yesterday and there it was on the shelves TWO DAYS before it was due to release....season 2. Even better it came in an evidence bag full of goodies, like crime tape, evidence stickers, a 'deceased' toe tag and a rubber glove. Hehehehehe. No Spoilers please you lucky people with the Showcase channel, or you Americans... with your addictive shows... *mutter*... probably already watching season 3...

16Aug: Hello again. I'm bored, so thought I'd write in my journal.

Well, I finally finished my Undine piece last night while ~insanedragonfly was over for an anime/junkfood arvo. I had a taste of a few new anime's I've never seen before, even a few I've never heard of like 'Fooly Cooly' which was slightly random... Hmm. Anyways, it was all in all a good afternoon, since I rarely watch anime with anyone around because I am so shame about it. Oh! And ~insanedragonfly gave me an early birthday pressie: the entire Trigun series!!!

And I got to finish the Gilgamesh series today, which was awesome considering the shop I bought them from had reduced them from $30 to $7! Best-impulse-buy-ever! Now hunting for new anime titles to add to my collection *begins stalking anime websites*

My knees are sore. I went out before to bring in the bin (which the garbo dude DIDN'T empty! :angry and thought I'd let the dog come to the front of the house while I did so. Usually he follows me, but in a blink of an eye he was gone... running through my neighbour's garden! The bastard was chasing a cat (how stereotypical is that??) and cut a path through my neighbour's garden and then nearly smacked into another neighbour's car which the cat had ducked under for cover. Well, poor Jack (my dog) got over not catching the cat, but insisted upon not going back out the back of our house... I fell over chasing him... in front of a neighbour who had come out of his house to see what was up... and then Jack went through the gate and out the back without further encouragement (I think he knew I was pissed off). Last time I let him out without a chain, believe me!

I'm now off to go and feel sorry for myself. My brother should be home from work any minute now, so I might go and bug him

14Aug: Hi guys - still stalking around, as some of you may have noticed. And like you could keep me away, but I've enjoyed not being overly obsessive for once in jumping on and cruising for a few hours (yes, I have finally come to terms with my addiction). I've been a little bit sick lately, with a cold and bad reaction to a lentil burger patty () and I was luck enough to learn over the weekend that it's not my dog's shampoo that I react to - it's his doggie treats (no, not from eating them). After two and a half days of walking around with a swollen eye I've learnt it's safer to wash my hands immediately after giving my dog a treat

For my art, well I am nearly done with my 'Undine' piece, the works in progress sitting in my gallery at the moment. I found a few other stocks that have inspired me, but I took a random photo of someone the other day, so I think I may move on to that first.

Also, getting the contest together I'm happy too that for once I'll have a literature contest on the side too, since the writers out there don't get too much of a chance to do things these days *stands up and waves flag for support for dA writers*. However, prizes at the moment are pretty basic, so even features or any other donations would be accepted with thanks and glomps!

Best be off. I have a full day of uni and work... I won't get home until after 7.30PM!! Fuuuuuuun... and I can't skip, since I missed last weeks class because I was sick... darnit!

09Aug: Contest is getting organised. Thought I'd put something up to encourage interest. Details will be released August 29th or 30th - and don't worry writers, there's another little separate contest being organised for you. Judges will remain 'secret' until August 31st... so can you guess what the contest is about?

Prize donations would be greatly appreciated and I will add you to the wall of prize donators! Which at the moment is zilch.

I'm enjoying my break from deviantart... though I am still stalking around here most days.




05Aug: Let's all just forget about the poll. I think I got too excited and high on life... anyways, I'm kinda limiting my deviantart time.

I'm a bit tired and to be honest the novelty is wearing off. Not that anyone really cares, but I will be back since I just bought myself a years subbie. Just means faving and running will be my thing for a while, and I have some art in progress I'll submit as they are finished. If you need to contact me, note is the best option and my email as a last resort.

Hopefully I will fully active after a bit of a break. Thanks for everything people.
